EMERGING AMERICAN VALUES (or lack thereof...)

I keep hearing that the abuse in Abu Ghraib doesn't reflect American values. Yes it does.

It's about time that we squarely meet face to face with our emerging values: sexual deviancy, debasement, debauchery. These are the values now taught to very young children in our schools. Why should anyone be surprised to find that the seeds of the 60's are now sprouting a second, and even third, generation of immorality, lack of discipline, lack of respect for life?

Happily wallowing in the muck to their own benefit are the media and the politicians, typically using every human dilemma to slake their own greedy thirst, circling any wagon which shows the slightest sign of titillation. Interesting that the "If it feels good, do it" people are now politically correctly complaining at the inevitable results of their own philosophy. And yet they are too blind to see that they are the direct cause.

We have about one generation to clean it up.

To the Media: Have We Groveled Enough Yet?

Is anyone else nauseated by the maudlin displays we are providing the world as the aftermath of prisoner abuse in Iraq?

Yes, it was terrible. We have said so, and those guilty should and will be punished.

Enough already.

No wonder Americans hate the media so much.
